The RNC offers salaries that are competitive with all police services in the country. They are on a graduated scale, based on years of service. The annual constable base salary ranges from $51,018.01 to $95,233.61 as set out in the schedule below. RNC officers have the opportunity to add to their base salary through a variety of programs:

- 1-10 Years 120 hours of vacation

In the event of your death, you are insured for a life insurance benefit equal to two times your current annual salary payable to the beneficiary you have appointed on your Group Enrollment Card. Professional Development Opportunities
The RNC promotes and fosters an environment of lifelong learning and continued professional development. The RNC has developed partnerships with Memorial University, the Canadian Police College as well as other educational institutions to provide employees with opportunities to enhance professional, managerial and leadership competencies.
Employee Assistance Program
Job performance is directly related to the health and well-being of RNC employees and their families. The Employee Assistance Program is a joint program of the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Association and the Government Managers’ Association. Confidential counseling is provided for employees and their immediate family members who have personal problems which are affecting, or which have the potential to affect, work performance.
Maternity/Adoption/Parental Supplemental Allowance
A police officer who has been granted maternity/adoption/parental leave without pay may be entitled to receive a Supplemental Allowance of ninety-three percent (93%) of the police officer’s weekly rate of for up to 17 weeks.
RNC Police officers have priority in positions for the in-house Daycare Facility.
