ADVISORY – RNC Make Adjustments to Mailout Practices Due to Rotating Postal Labour Actions

(St. John’s, NL), October 24, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Information Management Division (IMD) has temporarily discontinued mailing completed Certificate of Conducts and/or Vulnerable Sector Checks.

Due to labour actions by the Canadian Union of Postal Workers affecting Canada Post delivery services, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Information Management Division will not be returning completed Certificate of Conducts and/or Vulnerable Sector Checks by mail for applications made on the Northeast Avalon. Applicants will need to check www.rnc.gov.nl.caReadyForPickup to determine if their application is ready for pickup based on the date of their application.

All completed applications must be picked up in person at RNC Provincial Headquarters at 1 Fort Townshend in St. John’s once the applicant sees their application is ready for pickup.  Applicants will be required to present Government issued photo identification (Driver’s Licenses, Passport, etc.) when picking up in person. This process is temporary due to Labour Disruptions at Canada Post and is in an effort to provide completed applications back to applicants in timely manor.
