The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has a new process for paying and scheduling appointments for various civil fingerprint services. The available civil fingerprinting services include:

PLEASE NOTE:
- A Certified Criminal Records Check is required as part of amendments to the Change of Name Act, and requires an applicant to submit fingerprints. To complete this process:
- Submit a Fingerprinting Request.
- Select ‘Change of Name’ in the ‘Purpose of Request’ drop down menu when submitting your application.
- Certain immigration applications specifically require the individual to go to the nearest Service Canada location. Please review your requirements carefully and DO NOT PROCEED IF YOUR PAPERWORK ADVISES THAT YOU APPEAR AT SERVICE CANADA.
Additionally, the RNC will now do ink fingerprints for the purposes of immigration or out-of-country background and police checks. Applicants are responsible for providing all necessary paperwork for these applications, and the RNC assumes no responsibility for the accuracy of the paperwork provided.
Please note that it may take up to 15 business days before you receive a fingerprinting appointment time.
The Process
Step 1: Pay the appropriate fee for the service requested, as listed above. Ensure you save a copy of your payment receipt as you will need to attach it to your application during step 2. Click here to process your payment
Step 2: To request any of the above civil fingerprinting services, please fill out the following online form;
Step 3: You will be contacted by the Fingerprinting Office to make a fingerprint appointment.
Step 4: When coming for your assigned fingerprint appointment, ensure that you bring the following:
- Two valid pieces of identification (one of which must be government issues with photo, name, date of birth and signature)
- For fingerprinting required for Federal Government Employment, the applicant must also bring their request form from the agency or department with the appropriate ORI.
- Applicants are required to arrive for their appointment with hard copies of all necessary paperwork. If the applicant fails to do so, a new appointment time will be scheduled.

Applicants who cannot apply for fingerprint services online, or pay the fee online, please send:
- A signed and completed fingerprint request form. (Acrobat® Reader software can be used for viewing Portable Document Format (PDF) documents. Download Acrobat® Reader for free).
- Two valid pieces of identification (one of which must be government issued with photo, name, date of birth, and signature)
- Cheque, money order or bank draft in the amount of $20 payable to NL Exchequer.
