Stage 1 – Application Package

Your Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Cadet Training Program application contains several requirements that will help the recruiting team determine your suitability for a career in policing with the RNC.

Please email your application to rncrecruiting@rnc.gov.nl.ca and include your attachments saved as .PDF with the subject line as follows:

RNC Cadet Program 2024-2025 – Last Name, First Name Middle Name

For example: RNC Cadet Program 2024-2025 – Smith, John Jacob

Please read the following carefully and ensure all of the following are attached to your email before sending. If needed, more than one email can be sent. In that case we ask that you include 1 of 3, 2 of 3, etc. in your subject line.

*All attachments must be saved as a .PDF where indicated and named with the document title and the applicant’s last name, first and middle name.*

For example: Birth Certificate – Smith, John Jacob.pdf

  • PDF copy of completed Police Cadet Application (PCA) (Ensure you are using an updated version of Adobe Reader. Save the document to your desktop and open it from there).If you are still having an issue completing the PCA, please:If you are still having an issue completing the PCA, please:

    3. Select a location on your computer to save the file.
    4. Open the file from the saved location.

    6. Complete the form.
    7. Save the form to your computer.
  • PDF copy of your Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certificate
  • PDF copy of your Birth Certificate
  • (If applicable) PDF copy of your Canadian Citizenship (i.e. passport) or Permanent Residency
  • PDF copy of your Social Insurance Number (SIN) card or documented proof of SIN from Revenue Canada
  • PDF copy of both sides of your valid Driver’s License
  • PDF copy of signed Acknowledgment Declaration sheet
  • PDF copy of signed Authorization for Release of Information
  • PDF copy of your detailed cover letter and resume clearly demonstrating all work history, education history, skills, interests, sports, hobbies, and community volunteer activities
  • PDF copy of ALL official academic transcript(s) including high school and post-secondary (where applicable, include Educational Credential Assessment to verify that your foreign degree, diploma, certificate is valid and equal to a Canadian one as issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) *Note: For first year students, the onus is on the applicant to submit transcripts upon completion of the semester. Failure to submit may result in elimination from the competition*
  • (If applicable) PDF copy of any driver training certificates (for any modes of transportation you may be licensed to operate)
  • Pre-Employment Polygraph Questionnaire
  • Coloured passport photos in JPEG format

You are strongly encouraged to proofread all documents. Candidates will be notified via e-mail as they progress through the various stages of the recruitment process.
