The Operational Support Services Division provides support to the Operational Patrol Services Division (OPS). This division includes the Telephone Reporting Centre staffed by officers who help members of the public file and report non-emergency complaints. They also provide counter service for walk-ins at detachments. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Communication Centre are the unseen first responders who play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our communities by dispatching patrol officers to calls requiring immediate police assistance.
Units of the Operational Support Services Division are specially trained and include officers who have served in OPS for several years before qualifying to serve in a support services role.
