(Corner Brook, NL) October 6, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a man with a number of weapons offences following an incident at Margaret Bowater Park.
Just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 4), officers descended on the city park and connecting trail network following a report that someone was in the area pointing a firearm. There were no injuries reported.
A male matching the description provided to responding officers was located in the area of West Valley Road and Elford Avenue just before 11:30 p.m. in possession of a long barrel BB gun, pellets, and a hunting-style knife.
Frank Major, 18, has been charged with:
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Pointing a firearm
- Using an imitation firearm while committing an offence
The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
