(St. John’s, NL) December 23, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is reminding drivers to celebrate responsibly this holiday season to keep our roadways safe.
The RNC is increasing enforcement to target impaired driving during the busy party and travel season. Motorists are advised that officers will be present and proactively looking to find impaired drivers. There will be checkpoints, radar enforcement and traffic safety stops to help ensure those behind the wheel are sober.
Impaired driving is not an accident, it is a choice.
If you are going to consume alcohol or drugs, plan a safe ride home; designate a driver, take a taxi or use a rideshare.
The RNC continues to urge the public to report dangerous and impaired driving by calling 911 immediately. Road safety is a responsibility of us all. Together, we can help ensure a safe and joyous holiday season for all.
