Man Arrested Following Commercial Break-In

(St. John’s, NL) February 17, 2025 — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) arrested a man in connection with a break and enter at a business in St. John’s.

At approximately 4:40 a.m. on Saturday (Feb. 15), RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a break and enter in progress at a restaurant located on Freshwater Road. Responding officers observed a male exit the building and flee on foot. Patrol officers placed the male under arrest a short time later.

The accused, 37-year-old Anthony Farrell, was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court on the following charges:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of a break-in instrument
  • Disguise with intent
  • Theft under $5000.00
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Two counts of assaulting a police officer with a weapon
  • Resisting arrest
  • Two counts of breach of probation
