(St. John’s, NL) June 27, 2024 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a man from Labrador following sexual activity with a minor.
Over a series of days earlier this month, Robert Hope is accused of participating in sexual activities with a female teen at a St. John’s hotel.
The 64-year-old has been charged with sexual assault, sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, householder permitting prohibited sexual activity, and breaches of court orders. He appeared in court today.
The RNC Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit investigates the most sensitive of matters which include assaults against children and sexual assaults. Members of this unit are skilled investigators that use a trauma-informed, victim-centred approach that prioritizes the safety and well-being of all individuals. Survivors of sexual violence are encouraged to reach out for help from a trusted resource as soon as it is safe to do so.
