RNC Arrest Male Following Break and Enter

(St. John’s, NL) April 8, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) arrested a male following a break and enter and assault in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s.

On Friday (March 13) around 11:30 p.m., Operational Patrol Services responded to a disturbance at a home on Portugal Cove Road where a male was located with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital for treatment. The incident is not believed to be random.

The Major Crime Unit was engaged to investigate and as a result, Christopher Ring was located and arrested yesterday (April 7) and charged with the following:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault with a Weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Breaking and Entering
  • Robbery with Violence
  • Mischief
  • Uttering Threats

The 44-year-old was held to appear in court today.
