(St. John’s, NL) July 15, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a Holyrood man with a number of firearms offences.
A tip from the public led Operational Patrol Officers to Nathan Rideout who was located on Hibbs Road in Conception Bay South asleep behind the wheel around 10 a.m. yesterday (July 14). During a search of the vehicle officers located what is believed to be an imitation switch gun, ammunition, and bear spray.
The 27-year-old is facing more than a dozen charges that include:
- Unlawful operation of conveyance while prohibited by order
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Carelessly using firearm or ammunition
- Breach of Firearms Regulations
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Unauthorized possession of firearm
- Unauthorized possession of prohibited firearm
- Unauthorized possession of firearm in motor vehicle
- Possessing prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition without authorization or licence
- Possession of weapon obtained by commission of offence
- Two counts of failure to comply with a condition of a release order
The accused was held for court.
