RNC Arrest Wanted Person in Metro

(St. John’s, NL), January 20, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Operational Patrol Services arrested a wanted male in St. John’s yesterday afternoon.

On Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at approximately 2:00 pm, officers with RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) observed a wanted male while on patrol in a residential area of center city, St. John’s. The male submitted a false name to the officer, then attempted to flee on foot. Officers were successful in arresting the male in the area a short time later.

As a result of an investigation in to the event, the 42-year-old male from St. John’s was charged with public mischief, diverting suspicion, resisting arrest, and failure to comply with court orders. The accused was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court on the charges, as well as four outstanding arrest warrants.
