RNC Charge Impaired Driver in Vehicle-Pedestrian Collision

(Corner Brook, NL) January 12, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is investigating following a vehicle-pedestrian collision in Corner Brook.

Around 6 p.m. Friday (Jan. 9), Operational Patrol Services responded to Wheeler’s Road where a woman had been struck by a vehicle. Accident Investigation and Forensic Identification Services were engaged to assist the ongoing investigation. The 76-year-old woman was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

The 27-year-old female driver of the vehicle has been charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm and was released to appear in court at a later date. Her licence was also suspended and vehicle impounded.

RNC Collision Reconstructionists are seeking any witnesses or video footage (CCTV, dash-camera, cell phone) from the area around the time of the collision.
