RNC Charge Man with Trafficking

(St. John’s, NL) January 21, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a man with trafficking following a drug seizure in St. John’s.

The Weapons and Drug Enforcement Unit (WDEU), with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit, the RCMP Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, and Operational Patrol Services, executed a search warrant at a home on Canada Drive yesterday.

Thirty nine-year-old Chris Oake was found to be in possession of a quantity of drugs that appear to be cocaine and Percocet pills, but further laboratory testing by Health Canada is required. He was held in custody and will appear in court today on two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and breaches of a court order.

The investigation is ongoing.
