RNC Execute Search at Shea Heights Property

(St. John’s, NL) January 24, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has made an arrest following a search of a property in St. John’s.

A Weapons and Drug Enforcement Unit (WDEU) investigation into firearms-related offences led officers to a property on Druken Crescent. At approximately 6:30 a.m. today (Jan. 24), the WDEU supported by RNC Operational Patrol Services, the RNC Tactics and Rescue Unit and the RCMP-NL Emergency Response Team, performed a tactical entry to gain access to the home. Tyler Downey, 29, was arrested without further incident. He appeared in Provincial Court today charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The investigation is ongoing.
