(St. John’s, NL), September 27, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has laid additional charges in connection with the investigation of shooting events that occurred in Conception Bay South (CBS) last week.

Matthew FOWLER, 31, of St. John’s, has been additionally charged with aggravated assault, careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, unauthorized possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, and possessing a weapon with ammunition. These charges are in connection with the events believed to have occurred on Greeleytown Road in CBS on September 22, 2022. The accused remains in custody, and will appear on these charges in Provincial Court.
