RNC Lay Charges, Seize ATV During Operation

(St. John’s, NL), August 7, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) laid charges and seized an ATV during an off-road vehicle enforcement operation in Paradise.

On Wednesday (August 6), RNC Traffic Services conducted a covert enforcement operation in the Town of Paradise in connection with reports of illegal off-road vehicle activity in the community. The effort was supported by Town of Paradise municipal enforcement officers.

Shortly after 12 p.m., illegal off-road vehicle operation was observed in the area of McNamara Drive. RNC officers in plain clothes were able to detain the operator of an ATV in the area in connection with the illegal activity.

A 15-year-old male was charged under the Off-Road Vehicles Act in connection with operating an off-road vehicle on a highway without a license, as well as operating an unregistered vehicle. The parent of the operator was charged with allowing unsupervised operation of an off-road vehicle and allowing operation of an uninsured vehicle. The ATV was seized at the scene.
