RNC Make Arrest Following Armed Robbery

(St. John’s, NL) February 16, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has made an arrest following an armed robbery in St. John’s.

On Friday (Jan. 30) around 4:45 p.m., Operational Patrol Services responded to an armed robbery at a business in Churchill Square. The suspect presented a weapon, demanded jewelry from an employee and fled the area before officers arrived. There were no injuries.

Forty-year-old Romaine Keefe was identified as the person responsible and was arrested yesterday evening (Feb. 15) in Mount Pearl. Keefe was held to appear in court on charges of:

  • Robbery with a firearm
  • Careless use of a firearm
  • Pointing a firearm
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Carrying a concealed weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Unauthorized possession in a motor vehicle
  • Disguised with intent.

She was also charged with theft and breaches on an unrelated matter.
