(St. John’s, NL), September 14, 2022 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has made arrests in connection with a pair of home invasions, which occurred in St. Johns, on Beaumont Street and Maunders Lane, on Monday, September 12.
On Monday, September 12, 2022, the RNC responded to a pair of home invasions in St. John’s, resulting in a Major Case Management Team being assembled, with the sole focus of investigating the events.
As a result of the ongoing investigation, two males have been arrested and charged with the following offences:
Justin HAYNES, 31, of St. John’s
- Break and Enter (Home Invasion), s. 348.1 CC x 2
- Robbery, s. 343 CC x 1
- Common Assault, s. 266 CC x 3
- Uttering Threats, s. 264 CC x1
- Breach of Release Order, s. 145(5) x 4
- Fraud, s. 380 CC x 2
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, s. 355.4 CC x 2
John HURLEY, 32, of St. John’s
- Break and Enter (Home Invasion), s. 348.1 CC x 2
- Robbery, s. 343 CC x 1
- Aggravated Assault, s. 268 CC
- Assault with a Weapon, s. 267(b) CC x 1
- Common Assault, s. 266 CC x 3
- Uttering Threats, s. 264 CC x1

Investigators continue to seek any video or witness information related to these events, as investigative tasks remain operational on this investigation. Information regarding a potential third suspect remains under review by the Major Case Management Team.
