RNC Seize Dirt Bike Following Collision

(St. Johns, NL) June 11, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) seized a dirt bike after responding to a motor vehicle collision in St. John’s.

At approximately 11:25 a.m. on April 21, Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision on Airport Heights Drive. Responding officers determined that a dirt bike, or dual purpose bike, had collided into a SUV after doing a ‘wheelie’ while travelling on the roadway. The dirt bike was seized at the scene as there was no associated insurance policy.

Following an investigation, on Tuesday (June 3), the operator of the dirt bike, a 16-year-old male, was issued summary offence tickets under the Highway Traffic Act in relation to stunting on a highway, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

The RNC continues to urge the public to report unsafe driving behaviours directly to police. Anyone with information is asked to call 911. To report anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or visit www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
