Road Side Stop Leads to Significant Drug Seizure

(St. John’s, NL) January 22, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has seized a large amount of cocaine and cash in a drug stop in Conception Bay South.

As part of an intra-provincial drug trafficking investigation by the Weapons and Drug Enforcement Unit (WDEU), a traffic stop was initiated on the Foxtrap Access Road on Monday evening (Jan. 20). Officers located 12 kilograms of cocaine which translates to a one million dollar street value seizure.

A 36-year-old man was arrested. He has since been released from custody with charges pending. The investigation is ongoing.
