UPDATE: RNC Investigating Armed Robbery

(St. John’s, NL), July 17, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit has arrested one man and is continuing to search for the second in an armed robbery investigation.

Wednesday June 7, 2017, just after 4:00pm, officers with RNC Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Forensic Identification Service and Police Dog Services responded to a report of an armed robbery at Green’s Pharmacy, at 842 CBS Highway in Conception Bay South. Witnesses advised that a lone man with his face concealed entered the business armed with a firearm and demanded paramedical drugs.

The lone man fled to an awaiting vehicle and left the scene prior to police arrival. The man was described as 5’4”-5’5” with a stocky build wearing all black clothing and a black mask. The vehicle was used to flee the scene was a white Ford panel van.

On Friday, July 14, 2017, investigators arrested 60 year old Leonard CLARKE of CBS who is alleged to have been driving the vehicle used in the commission of this robbery. The lone man who entered the store is still at large and has not been identified.
