(St. John’s, NL) July 10, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is appealing for help from the public as it investigates a serious assault in downtown St. John’s.
Operational Patrol Services were flagged down on Long’s Hill just after 11 p.m. yesterday (July 9) by a concerned citizen who had located a male in distress. The victim, who has not yet been positively identified, was rushed to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries.
The Major Crime Unit is canvassing the area today and appealing for information and video footage (CCTV, dash-camera, cell phone) from the area encompassed by Long’s Hill, Queen’s Road, and Garrison Hill between 9:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday.
