(Corner Brook, NL) August 18, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) arrested a driver for intimate partner violence offences during a traffic stop in Corner Brook.
Operational Patrol Services in Corner Brook conducted a routine traffic safety stop around 4 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 17), on Confederation Drive. The vehicle, operated by a 33-year-old male, was found to have no insurance and was seized.
During the traffic stop, officers were approached by a female passenger of the vehicle who reported having been assaulted by the driver the day prior. Officers investigated the complaint, and arrested the male for assault, forcible confinement, and violence against an intimate partner.
The male was held to appear in court.
