RNC Charge Quebec Man for Making Bomb Threat

(Labrador City, NL) August 31, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a Quebec man for making a bomb threat at the Wabush Airport.

Operational Patrol Services responded to the airport around 8 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 30) to find a man had been removed from an aircraft. The airport was subsequently evacuated and searched, and the threat was determined to be unfounded.

As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Sylvestre Brian Essimeu St-Onge Vollant has been charged with:

  • Public mischief
  • Uttering threats
  • Causing a disturbance
  • Breach of probation

He was held to appear in court today.
