(Corner Brook, NL) September 15, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a man with aggravated assault following a stabbing in Corner Brook.
Yesterday (Sept. 14) at approximately 5:30 p.m., Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a stabbing at a business on Mount Bernard Avenue in Corner Brook. The 37-year-old male victim was transported to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The male suspect had fled on foot prior to police arrival. A search of the area led officers to a residence on Valley Road where they located and arrested the suspect around 7 p.m.
Gregg Musakanda, 32, will appear in court today on charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, disguise with intent, and break and enter.
The Criminal Investigation Division is working to put together a timeline of events leading up to the attack and is appealing for any information or video footage of the accused.

Anyone with information or video footage (CCTV, dash camera, cell phone) is asked to contact the RNC at 709-637-4100. Those who have already spoken to an officer are not required to follow-up. The RNC thanks the public for their co-operation and assistance with the ongoing investigation.
