(ST. JOHN’S, NL) July 16, 2019 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit is investigating firearms located at Cape Spear.

On Monday, July 15, 2019, around 1:00 pm, members of Operational Patrol Services Division responded to reports of suspicious property in the area of Cape Spear. On arrival, officers located a bag which contained firearms. The RNC Marine Unit, Tactics and Rescue Unit, and St. John’s Regional Fire Department high angle rescue were deployed to further search the area.

The Major Crime Unit are actively investigating the property located in the area of Cape Spear, and ask anyone with any information which may assist to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
