(St. John’s, NL), November 8, 2018 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) Major Crime Unit is investigating a suspicious death in St. John’s.
On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at approximately 10:40 pm, officers with RNC’s Operational Patrol Services Division, Criminal Investigation Division, and Forensic Identification Services, along with Eastern Health Paramedics, were called to a unit in an apartment building on Bay Bulls Road in St. John’s to a report of a sudden death. A 45 year old female resident was pronounced deceased on arrival by paramedics.
Investigators with RNC Major Crime Unit believe the circumstances around this death to be suspicious in nature and are working with the office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death. Police have secured the area in which the death occurred pending the Medical Examiner’s report and investigators have been in the area throughout the day canvassing and speaking with neighbours.
