(St. John’s, NL), November 1, 2017 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) General Investigation Unit (GIU) is investigating a structure fire that occurred on Monday morning.
On Monday, October 30, 2017, at approximately 2:30am, police officers with RNC’s Patrol Services Division and firefighters with St. John’s Regional Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at a condominium development located at 56 Bay Bulls Road in Kilbride (St. John’s). Nobody was injured in the fire but the building development was completely destroyed. There was no electricity to this site and the last known time a person was lawfully at the site was Sunday, October 29, 2017 at 2:00pm at which time it was secured.
Fire investigators believe circumstances around this fire to be suspicious in nature and are looking to speak with anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity or persons overnight Sunday into Monday. Any residents who may have security cameras outside their home in the area or who may have any information pertaining to this investigation are also encouraged to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
