(St. John’s, NL) February 28, 2025 — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a man with sexual assault in St. John’s.
Just after 3 a.m. today, Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of an assault that had just occurred at a hotel in downtown St. John’s. Responding officers located a woman requiring medical support.
Shortly after noon, a 29-year-old man from the United States was arrested. The accused has been charged with sexual assault and is being held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
All survivors of sexual violence are encouraged to reach out for help from a trusted resource as soon as it is safe to do so. Members of the RNC’s Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit are available to speak with anyone that has information or questions. With a trauma-informed focus, officers educate and inform survivors of their legal and investigative options while also directing them to appropriate resources based on their individual needs.
