Driver Arrested With Outstanding Warrant and Fines

(St. John’s, NL) March 20, 2025 — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest following a traffic stop in St. John’s on Wednesday night.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., RNC Operational Patrol Services (OPS) conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle travelling on Columbus Drive. The patrol officer determined that the male operator was currently suspended from operating a motor vehicle. Additionally, he had over $30,000.00 in outstanding fines connected to motor vehicle operation, and a warrant in effect for his arrest.

The 55-year-old male from Mount Pearl was placed under arrest and held in custody to appear in Provincial Court. The accused was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act for operating a motor vehicle without an insurance policy, operating without a valid driver’s license, and failure to transfer ownership of a motor vehicle.
