(St. John’s, NL) May 5, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a male and female following a disturbance that invoked a shelter-in-place order in the centre city of St. John’s.
Operational Patrol Services responded to the Cookstown Road area shortly before 1:30 p.m. Thursday (May 1) following a number of calls that described a fight outside involving a group of people who fled to a nearby home prior to police arrival.
Due to the description of a firearm, the high-density area, and number of people involved, the RNC issued a shelter-in-place order for a one-block radius that last for approximately three hours as the Tactical Response Unit contained and cleared the area.
Claire Morgan, 34, has been charged with assault and failing to appear while 33-year-old Adam Noonan has been charged with:
- Two counts of uttering threats
- Assault
- Using a firearm, or imitation, in the commission of an offence
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
