RNC Targeting High-Risk Driving Behaviours

(St. John’s, NL) May 13, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is targeting motorists who choose to engage in high-risk driving during this Canada Road Safety Week.

The weeklong campaign aims to make Canada’s roads the safest in the world by focusing on behaviours that put road users most at risk, including impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and driving without a seatbelt.

This year’s theme, ‘Road Safety – Every Road. Every Day. Everyone.’, is a reminder that the decisions drivers make not only affect them, but other road users as well.

During Road Safety Week, the RNC will be engaged in various enforcement activities, reaffirming its commitment to road safety for all. The RNC launched the campaign in the town of Conception Bay South this morning where Mayor Darrin Bent joined Cst. James Cadigan to promote safe driving practices.

The RNC continues to urge the public to report dangerous and impaired driving directly to police. Anyone with information is asked to call 911. To report anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or visit www.nlcrimestoppers.com.
