Peacekeepers Way Reopens to Traffic

(St. John’s, NL) August 12, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) advises that effective immediately, Peacekeepers Way has reopened to traffic.

The RNC continues to work in consultation with the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre and the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture. Motorists are advised that should conditions change, the roadway may be closed again at short notice.

The evacuation order for the Three Island Pond area of Paradise remains in effect. There continues to be high traffic volumes in this region. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and delay any non-essential travel.

The RNC reminds all drivers to have patience and follow the instruction of emergency personnel. For the safety of all, do not stop or exit your vehicle on a roadway.

The Trans-Canada Highway remains closed from the Cloverleaf (Pitts Memorial Drive/Outer Ring Road) to the Foxtrap Access Road.
