(St. John’s, NL) August 15, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is reminding the public of ongoing road closures due to the wildfire at Paddy’s Pond.

The evacuation order for the area Southwest of Peacekeepers Way, encompassing Cochrane Pond Park, remains in effect. Paddy’s Pond Road and Northern Pond Road remain closed. The southern portion of Fowlers Road continues to be closed. Please avoid the area.

The RNC continues to work in consultation with the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre and the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agriculture. The regional state of emergency remains in effect.

The RNC reminds all drivers to have patience and follow the instruction of emergency personnel. For the safety of all, do not stop or exit your vehicle on a roadway.
