(St, John’s, NL) August 28, 2025 — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has arrested a man in connection with a sexual assault in St. John’s.

Just before noon today (August 28), Operational Patrol Services responded to a report of a sexual assault in progress in the area of Whiteway Street. Responding officers determined that a female had been assaulted by a male that was known to her. The male had left the area in a vehicle, but was located by patrol officers a short time later and taken into custody.

Following an investigation, a 37-year-old man from St. John’s was charged with sexual assault. He was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court.
