(St. John’s, NL) December 23, 2025 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is reminding drivers to make safe and responsible choices behind the wheel.
The RNC is increasing enforcement to target impaired driving during the busy party and travel season. Officers will be proactively looking to find impaired drivers. There will be checkpoints, radar enforcement and traffic safety stops to help ensure those behind the wheel are sober.
Holiday celebrations should be festive, not fatal. If you are going to consume alcohol or drugs, plan a safe ride home, designate a driver, take a taxi or rideshare, or stay overnight.
The RNC continues to urge the public to report dangerous and impaired driving by calling 911 immediately.
Road safety is everyone’s responsibility. Let’s all do our part to ensure a safe and joyous holiday season for all.
