RNC Lay Further Charges Against Mount Pearl Youth

(St. John’s, NL) April 1, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a youth with attempted murder following a stabbing this week in Mount Pearl.

On Monday (March 30) around 2:15 a.m., Operational Patrol Services responded to a disturbance at a home in Mount Pearl. Upon arrival, officers located a male with non-life-threatening stab wounds. The injured male was taken to hospital for further treatment.

The 13-year-old suspect had fled the area prior to police arrival but was located nearby where he was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

The victim and accused were known to one another.

Following further investigation by the Major Crime Unit, officers have laid additional charges of attempted murder, and aggravated assault. The 13-year-old was scheduled to appear in court today.
