Your Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Cadet Training Program application contains several requirements that will help the recruiting team determine your suitability for a career in policing with the RNC.

To begin, download the Application Checklist and use it as a guide to ensure all required materials are submitted for consideration. Please include the completed checklist with your application.

Please read the following carefully to ensure all of the following are attached to your email before sending. If needed, more than one email can be sent. In that case we ask that you include 1 of 3, 2 of 3, etc. in your subject line.

All attachments must be saved as a .PDF where indicated and named with the document title and the applicant’s last name, first and middle name.

For example: Birth Certificate – Smith, John Jacob.pdf

• PDF copy of your detailed cover letter and resume clearly demonstrating all work history, education history, skills, interests, sports, hobbies, and community volunteer activities.
• PDF copy of completed Police Cadet Application (PCA) (Ensure you are using an updated version of Adobe Reader. Save the document to your desktop and open it from there). If you are still having an issue completing the PCA, please:

1. 1. Right click on the link to the form.
   2. Select “Save target as” or “Save link as”.
   3. Select a location on your computer to save the file.
   4. Open the file from the saved location.
   5. If you cannot open the file, download Acrobat Reader for free by clicking here
   6. Complete the form.
   7. Save the form to your computer.

• Completed vision and hearing standards assessments.
• PDF copy of your Valid Standard First Aid and CPR certificate.
• PDF copy of your Birth Certificate; or PDF copy of you Canadian Citizenship (i.e. passport); or Permanent Residency Card (if applicable).
• PDF copy of your Social Insurance Number (SIN) card or documented proof of SIN from Revenue Canada.
• PDF copy of both sides of your valid Driver’s License (in colour).
• PDF copy of your driver’s abstract.
• PDF copy of signed Acknowledgment Declaration.
• PDF copy of signed Authorization for Release of Information.
• Pre-Employment Polygraph Questionnaire.
• PDF copy of ALL official academic transcript(s) including high school and post-secondary (where applicable, include Educational Credential Assessment to verify that your foreign degree, diploma, certificate is valid and equal to a Canadian one as issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada).
  • (If applicable) PDF copy of any driver training certificates (for any modes of transportation you may be licensed to operate).
