RNC Arrest Driver for Flight from Police

(Corner Brook, NL) July 9, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has arrested a dangerous driver in Corner Brook.

Shortly after noon on Tuesday (July 7), a member of RNC Traffic Services West, observed a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign in the area of Clarence Street in Corner Brook. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop after however, the operator fled, driving recklessly.

A short while later the vehicle was located unoccupied on Station Road. Through CCTV footage officers were able to identify the 26-year-old female driver. At approximately 2:40 p.m., the driver was located and arrested for flight from police and dangerous operation of a vehicle. She was also ticketed for not having insurance and for failing to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle was seized. The accused will appear in court at a later date.
