(Corner Brook, NL) March 23, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has arrested one of two men wanted for assault with a weapon in Corner Brook.
RNC Operational Patrol Services responded to a disturbance at a home in Corner Brook on Saturday (March 14). Responding officers located a person who had been sprayed with bear spray at the residence and warrants were requested for the arrest of Joshua Roberts and Todd Barry, who had fled the area prior to police arrival.
On Friday (March 20), with the assistance of the Tactics and Rescue Unit, Joshua Roberts was arrested without incident and held to appear in court on charges of:
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Administering a Noxious Substance
- Failure to comply with a Release Order
- Failure to comply with a Probation Order
The search is ongoing for Barry who is believed to be actively evading police. Barry is described to be 6’1” tall with hazel eyes and brown and grey hair. He may be armed and dangerous. The RNC is advising the public not to approach Barry and to report any sightings directly to police. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 709-637-4100.
