(St. John’s, NL) August 6, 2026 — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has charged a man for intentionally setting a series of fires in St. John’s.
On July 15 at approximately 11:30 a.m., Operational Patrol Services responded to a fire on Victoria Street. The General Investigation Unit was engaged and determined that a tent had been placed in the roadway and intentionally set on fire.
Patrick Greer, 30, was previously charged with arson in connection with four fires in St. John’s that occurred between July 18-21. Tuesday (Aug. 4), he was charged with arson and mischief for the Victoria Street fire.
He appeared in court yesterday.
The investigation into other related fires targeting pole lines and communications towers is ongoing.
