RNC Seize Drugs in Trafficking Investigation

(St. John’s, NL) August 28, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) has seized suspected cocaine and cash from a man in Mount Pearl.

As part of a drug trafficking investigation by the Weapons and Drug Enforcement Unit (WDEU), around 12 p.m. yesterday (Aug. 27), the RNC’s Tactics and Rescue Unit arrested two men, ages 75 and 24, in the west end of St. John’s on drug-related offences.

A subsequent search of a Mount Pearl home resulted in the seizure of:

  • Over five ounces of cocaine
  • Over $1,000 in cash
  • Prescription pills
  • Mushrooms
  • Machetes
  • Brass knuckles
  • Bear spray
  • Various loose ammo
  • Body armour
  • and other drug paraphernalia

The two men were released with charges pending following the results of drug testing. The investigation is ongoing.
