RNC Urge Motorists to Drive Safe this Long Weekend

(St. John’s, NL) September 4, 2026 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) is reminding motorists of the importance of safe driving during the Labour Day long weekend.

As motorists travel throughout the province’s roadways enjoying the last long weekend of the summer, the RNC wants to ensure safety is the priority. Drivers are reminded to reduce speeds, drive to the road conditions, and leave a safe distance between vehicles. For those using off-road vehicles, riders are encouraged to do so responsibly by wearing helmets and other protective equipment.

All motorists are reminded to never drive impaired or distracted.

The RNC continues to urge the public to report dangerous and impaired driving directly to police by calling 911.
