Mobile Crisis Response Team

Mental health Mobile Crisis Response Teams (MCRT) are a collaborative partnership between the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and NL Health Services.

The teams operate in RNC jurisdictions on the Northeast Avalon, Corner Brook Region, and in Labrador West. Each team consists of a mental health clinician and a plain-clothed RNC police officer trained in crisis intervention. These teams provide a community-based response to those experiencing distress due to mental health, addictions, and other crisis situations. The MCRT provides discreet mental health support services through the use of unmarked vehicles, and meet with people in their homes, community or a place where they feel safe to do so.

Anyone requiring mental health and/or addiction support is encouraged to contact the Mental Health Crisis Line at 811. In the event of an emergency always call 911.
