RNC Make Arrest Related to Assault in Goulds

(St. John’s, NL), October 23, 2023 – The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) made an arrest following response to a report of an assault at a residence in St. John’s.

 

On Sunday (Oct. 22) shortly after 7:00 a.m., RNC patrol officers responded to a report of an assault that had just occurred at a residence in the Goulds area of St. John’s. Responding officers arrived at the home to locate a male with visible injuries. He was transported to a hospital in order to seek medical attention.

 

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division (CID) and Forensic Identification Services (FIS) were engaged to support the investigation of the event.

 

At this stage, two arrests have been made in connection with the ongoing investigation. A 30-year-old male from St. John’s has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and uttering threats. He was held in custody to appear in Provincial Court. In addition, a 27-year-old female from Torbay has been charged with assault. She was released on conditions, scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on December 7, 2023.
